What this website does not do

Hosting and server log files

This website is hosted on Cloudflare Workers, a service of Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St., San Francisco, CA 94107, USA. When you visit the website, Cloudflare automatically processes technical data that your browser sends, such as your IP address, the date and time of the request, the page requested, the referrer, and your browser type. This is necessary to deliver the website and to protect it against attacks.

Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. The legitimate interest is the secure and reliable delivery of this website. I do not have access to these logs. Cloudflare keeps the data only as long as needed for these purposes, as described in the Cloudflare privacy policy.

Cloudflare may process data in the USA. Cloudflare is certified under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, on which the European Commission has issued an adequacy decision (Art. 45 GDPR).

External links

This website links to external sites, such as LinkedIn and official standards and regulation sources. No data is transferred to those sites until you click a link. After that, the privacy policy of the respective site applies.

Contact form

If you use the contact form, the name, email address, and message you enter are sent to me by email. Cloudflare processes the submission to deliver it (see hosting above). The message is then stored in my email inbox, which is provided by Google Ireland Limited (Gmail). The form does not store your data on this website.

I use the data only to answer your request. Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR if your request relates to a possible contract, otherwise Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR, based on my legitimate interest in answering messages. I delete the message when the conversation is finished, unless a legal retention obligation applies.

Contacting me by email or LinkedIn

If you contact me by email or through LinkedIn, I use the data you provide only to handle your request, on the same legal basis as above. LinkedIn’s own privacy policy applies to messages sent there.

Your rights

You have the right to access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20), and to object to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21). To exercise these rights, contact me using the details in the Impressum.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, for example the authority responsible for your place of residence or the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information Baden-Württemberg.
